This is how humans in general act on the world in general, according to the
cognitive scientists... we don't actually make decisions based on reality
but rather based on our "models" of reality which are inside our heads. This
is a great everyday example of this! No wonder interaction with others is
such a constant challenge...
I remember getting an OB-8, and trying out the Strings patch, and thinking
it was the best strings I had ever heard, indistinguishable from the real
thing. Now years later it just sounds like detuned sawtooth VCO's.
