Yes, and several generations of ever-advanced computer hardware were built,
before a computer ever succeeded at this task!

You seem to expect someone to be able perfectly duplicate the Hendrix solo,
without ever being able to improve upon the MIDI specification. This doesn't
seem to be a fair comparison.
