[sdiy] MIDI isn't musical : Flame bait?

Anybody yet mentioned USB? There are many USB capable MIDI keyboard
controllers (M-Audio, Evolution etc.) and MIDI modules that are not
restricted to slow 31.25 kbit/s serial protocol. Another choice is the
IEEE-1394 with MIDI, see www.midi.org for specs. Some PCI soundcards/DSP
modules (Soundblaster, Creamware DSP cards, Yamaha SW1000 etc. etc.)
also can use MIDI over PCI for lightning speeds.
