Sorry, but I disagree. MIDI is certainly *not* limited to the common,
simple note-on note-off messages that we usually see. For example,
Information for several contacts per key could easily be sent over MIDI
using the "General Purpose Controllers" CC# 10-13 and CC# 50-53. There are
also many undefined CC controllers that could be used. True, there is
probably no keyboard that currently does this, and probably no synth that
that would be able to use the information. But this is not due to any fault
or limitation of MIDI.
