[sdiy] o-scope vs soundcard

I am wanting to build an asm-1.  Since I know it is good to have the 
propper tools(but also don't desire to spend a lot of money on them) I was
thinking about using my sound card and xoscope as an oscilloscope.  If I
do this does that mean everything will be AC couplled?  I assumed that
stuff like LFOs would be hard to debug then.  

Otherwise I was wandering if
somebody could recomend a cheap supply of used scopes.


So am I better off getting a used scope or can I use my soundcard.  Let me
know your oppinions.
