If you use 1/8 patch cords, cut the video cable off old monitors too. Inside
there are usually three reasonable quality (red, blue and green or grey)
shielded wires. Simply slit the outer sheith and pull them out. Carry wire
cutters with you on hard rubbish collection days! Many of my patch cords
have this origin.
