[sdiy] SH-101 Power problems - anything common?

Hi All,

My friend sent me his SH-101 that gets no power, either from battieries or
the power supply (which checks ok on a meter.)

Before I go diving into it, does anyone know if this is a relatively common
problem with the SH-101, so as to perhaps point me towards specific
components?

Thanks much - I looked thru the archive (via the 80mb download since the
search engine wasn't working) but didn't see anything there.
