[sdiy] Gate Delay & NE558

Hi.

I think about adding a gate delay to my asm-1 style adsr envelope generator.
I still have a hand full of old NE558 quad timers here which I used some
years ago (for a cool video-effect btw).

It would be really easy to built a gate delay using one of these, but I'm
not sure if it's a good idea at all. I've read about the 555 that it will
mess up the rails and produce nasty spikes. I think the 558 and 555 are not
that different.

Anyone has experience with them? Or and advice how to built a "clean"
monoflop?

Thanks in advance,

	Nils 'no ota today' Pipenbrinck
