Huh? Is there a hidden feature in the analog output of MD recorders, so
that it can be converted into a digital out (besides using a ADC)? Can
you explain a little further please? Is a "toslink module" just the
cheap little thingie where the optical cable is plugged into?

Sure. Only sine waves don't have harmonics.


By the way, here's another strange idea: can several MD recorders be
synced in such a way that they can be used as a multitrack recorder? I
mean, if they all receive digital signals from ADCs which are fed by the
same clock they should run exactly in sync. But how sync them in
playback mode?
