well, its not really an analog method, and you do technically touch
something, but how about the Nintendo powerglove?  it uses ultrasonic
detectors to measure position in 3 space and 1 axis of rotation.  Also
measures flexture for 4 fingers.  You're "touching" the glove, but other
than that, your synth runs off midi generated from your computer after it
decodes the glove output...

I've been trying to get mine to work for 3 months... the hardware is
communicating with the software, but still only limited results.  Has anyone
here messed with hacking the powerglove?
