I am trying to decide if I want to use Xilinx XC95xx series CPLDs in
a project (which I am familiar with), or switch to Atmel ATF15xx series
CPLDs, which I have never used. If anybody has used both these parts
and the Xilinx parts, I would be interested in your comments. Looking
at the data sheets for the Atmel parts, they do have some interesting
features. My normal critera is, "Can I get them at Digikey?", and since
both are availiable there, I am having a hard time deciding. One clear
advantage over the Xilinx parts is they have free software that supports
VHDL, while the Atmel free software only supports CUPL.
