Well, I for one *love* them. And I *love* PSpice.
These are tools, and each tool has its limits.
But they are *great* tools, once you know their limits.

Did some reverse engineering on the Korg PS-3100 envelope
generators recently (more about that later !). This is an amazing
example to get a maximum of functions from a minimum of
components: VC-ADSR built from 1/2 LM324 + 1 CD4007
+ 3 selected transistors per voice (plus some more components
shared by 12 voices), and Decay even has exponential slope!

This circuit is not easy to understand (at least for me), but
1 hour with PSpice and 1 hour at a solderless breadboard
helped me to understand it. (Und to understand why the Decay
time range has certain limits, and how to overcome these.)
