I see we are on the same page. The Buchla 259 has exactly that. Among 
other things.

The odd thing is that the odd- even control is labelled "symmetry" It 
shorts part of the saw to ground and at the same time adds an offset to 
the sine wave going into the timbre shaper. I don't really see how that 
is crossfading from a fullwave rectified sine to a square. More like a 
square to a saw or a 7x sine to a odd asymetrical wave (I suppose this 
ends up sounding a lot like a fullwave rectified sine) depending where 
the "order" control is.
