[sdiy] older PC synth applications

You could sure use it for a MIDI sequencer and sysex communication and
storage device. Older versions of cakewalk and many others will run on that
machine. There are lots of DOS based sysex librarians around too. Find you
a nice, ISA slot MPU 401 MIDI interface like we all used before sound cards
were invented.

For keeping documentation around the studio, Word perfect for DOS ran great
on these machines. I ran my studio on a PC 8088 for years. Also, there is
a long out of production sample editor which will run on these machines.
The DOS and windows versions are available at my website on the DSS-1 page.

hey i was just given an older packard bell computer.. early ninties issue...
its using either 3.11 for Windows.. or something similar... I can confirm
that later.

Main question.. Are there any fun synth applications for this sort of
computer? Either programs.. or a way to use it as a MIDI or CV brain?

Let me know if you have any fun ideas.
I'll at least see if I can put a version of "Say it" on the computer.
