One heads up on reversing attenuators: since they rely on two out of
phase signals cancelling each other out, the level of attenuation is not
as deep as a pot wiper to ground. It's OK for a lot of uses but you may
hear some very low level signal. A trimmer will help adjust out pot
tolerances but mechanical hyteresis of the pot wiper will cause the null
point to be slightly different depending on direction of wiper travel.
