Ken has a point... when Tantalums go bad.. they melt down like
tiny nuclear reactors.

Usually the trouble is heat. They get VERY hot when they go. If there is
a lot of energy from say... large electrolytiic main filter caps (who uses them
?)...
then anything could happen.

I still think Tantalums have their place.

Did anyone see the picture of the car dealership in Malaysia where the showroom
floor collapsed?  It seems that the building sat on top of a vein of precious
Tantalum
and a clandestine mining operation was taking place below.

Hmmm... Niobium caps, anyone ???
