underneath (understandable of course). Is there an easy way to do this?
A good nice sharp drill bit. I use a 4mm one. Its cheaper than the
proper Verotool, which is just a drill bit with a plastic handle anyway.
But remember you ain't drilling a hole just taking the copper out. Check
for the swarf too, it can cross tracks and cause all manor of things. I
use a toothbrush to swipe away any stray bits.
If you have a load of holes to do, I stick the bit into a my Bosch power
drill and go for it. Just don't get too carried away.
I still do all my prototyping on Veroboard. And its got this great smell
when you take it out of the wrapper the first time. Unused bits of Vero
should go back in the packing and be sealed up with sellotape. This
stops it getting tarnished. If it does get tarnished, you can buff it up
again with one of those little rubberised sanding blocks from DIY
places.
If you use water washable flux solder, then be prepared to let the board
dry for 24 hours before using it. The Veroboard will soak up the water
and do really amusing things to S/H and HF-VCO etc.
