   Anyone know of any decent sources with good selections for LED/ backlit 
LCD charecter displays??? (ie 16x2, 20x2 etc etc)

  It seems that many backlit displays from the late 80's are dieing lately 
and I'm thinkin maybe the LED style ones maybe the way to go
for replacements???  Not to mention I think they look nicer....
