You won't get that close to real drum sounds with pure analog synthesis.  You can get plenty of good drum sounds, but they sound, umm, electronic.

What about sampling many variations of the same snare drum and switching between them (dare I say it, randomly)?  Or perhaps slightly changing the EQ or filter settings of a sample of a real snare drum?  Probably the former is the best way to achieve a the most "real" effect.
