Well, I am doing this at the moment. There are some guys in Germany
(including me) who build a 'new' version of the Formant following a book
from H.J. Helmstedt which is based on the old Formant circuits. I
personally mix it with some of the old Formant modules and circuits.

Some of the components of the original Formant circuits are hardly to
get, but you can find alternatives in the new book.
