I Agree! I use lacing tape a lot too,
(though I never tied the chips themselves in) This is something like
preparing for a hurricane in the Horatio Hornblower version of
"Chips at Sea"
"Hoist the mizzen! "Batten the hatches!
"and lash all the chips to their sockets!
"We've gonna ride some wild Waves Maties!" LOL!
For really intricate lacing, I actually prefer to work with dental floss,
round and yes, waxed, (and if you really want to get kinky
you can use the Minty Green stuff)!
