[sdiy] Midi->CV project

    I just made a new PDF of the Midi->CV converter project I am doing.

http://www.silcom.com/~patchell/synthmodulesII/200-1017.pdf

    The connectors are all board mounted. On the right are the three
Midi connectors, followed by a 8 pin modular connector, and then 1/4"
board mount jacks. I am hoping by putting everything on a PC board, it
will make the final assembly easier...but a 13"x2.75" board, I have
found out, is not easy to route. You just don't have very many places
where you can run horizontal traces. It also will have a Jack so that I
can input an external signal to generate Midi events (i.e. Midi
Clock)...the brains of the board is an Atmel AT90S8515.

    Speaking of Atmel, I downloaded last night the GNU C compiler for
the AVR...Anybody use this? If so, is it worth the effort to figure out
how to use the tools? I am under the impresion that this is a C++
compiler.
