Dear folks,
I need to know how to wire up my Soundblaster Live! card in order to use the
MIDI in and out feature.
I thought it would be possible to find suitable information using the ever
going tool of Google (no folks, don't give me hints on search engines!).
I've only come up with a page in German (... and don't tell me how to get
things translated either!) and a pin-out thing from the Hardware book.
If anyone could give me any information about what is really required.
Do I need to build a box to convert signal levels or can I make a quick
soldering job of wire and connectors?
I just need to know. Meanwhile I think I probably best spend my time at trying
to figuring out how the hell my OP-4001 is going to be found my the Linux
drivers... (sigh).
Oh, spare me the details of which lovely board and USB MIDI interface to buy
too... I've got two MIDI capable boards in my machine, I just need one to be
wired up and the other to be found by drivers. Neither could be a near-infinity
of difficultness to get running properly.
Extra points for providing the pin-outs of the SBLive! 2x20 connector!
Cheers,
Magnus
