The whole search for 76477s was a long, frustrating adventure involving
several vendors and a wide array of SNAFU. Not to mention about $1500!
At one point I was screaming......
In the end we managed to actually get 200 of the "shrink dip" versions.
Oddly enough, one batch was "N" and the other "NF" with no apparent
physical or electronic difference. There seems to be NO way to determine
the package type from anything printed on the DIP!!!!!!
The good news is that these are newer chips, made in the 90's
accordingto the vendor. They certainly look nice and shiny.
The bad news is that you really need an adaptor board to use them. The
good news is that we will have some in stock late this week.
We will have a few individual units for sale plus the DSC bare board
with 76477/adaptor board included. Keep an eye on the web site for
ordering info.
