[sdiy] Metric OT rant

I understand that Thomas Edison invented motion pictures. Edison specified
the film and it was manufactured by George Eastman. Why 35mm?

Spark plugs in the USA are strange. The hex nut on them are fractional
inches but the thread is metric, 14mm or 18mm.
