Clockspeeds. 1 MHz, 1.5 MHz and 2.0 MHz if I recall. I have datasheets around
if ya' need to know for sure (just too lazy to dig them up right now).

Yes. They are almost completely isolated.

The 6850 is a damn "stupid" UART, but it is nice since it does its little thing
pretty well without too much bother to get it there. I think one should study
it before looking at more complex brothers and sisters, kind of "learn the
basics".
