Howdy!
I just got a Korg Poly 800, and have noticed many ebay poly's that
have some mods done to them. After a cursory search, I found the
"moog_slayer" mod. Has anyone tried it? It looks pretty slick.
I am also interested in doing the sysex mod, but I have no prom
burner, nor do I know what kind of eprom to use. Has anyone tried
it? I might be able to find a burner at the nearby college...
The reason I'm so interested in doing the sysex mod is I've had
ZERO luck getting patches to load. I have 5 different copies of
the "original" poly sounds and have played them through my line-out
at many different volumes. I made a cable with 1/8" stereo plug
and 1/8" mono plug, and also tried a straight 1/8" stereo to 1/8"
stereo cable too. I remember doing this stuff with my APPLE ][ 20
years ago--it was never as finicky as this! Do you guys have any
suggestions?
Thanks,
Brian Hoogerbrugge
