[sdiy] Longshot: Yamaha ADPCM encoding format

All,

A longshot, but does anyone know about the Yamaha ADPCM encoding format?
Its not G.721 or G.723 but some cunning scheme of their own.  So far, a
web search has not been too successful, other than a few tantalising
clues, and a 1994 Microsoft document saying there is a WAV header
"YAMAHA_ADPCM", number 0x0020, but thats about it.
