I also use +/-5V range for audio and LFO output,
except for square LFO those are 0 to +5V or 0 to -5V.
All my modules can handle +/-15V as input however the effective range is
usually limited to 5V.
That is either +/-2.5V or 0 to +5V this is where the input and offset pots
do their job.
Think we are not alone, kind of makes sense to at least allow negative CV
from LFOs and audio.
Or I am missing the point you try to make?
