To some,
After I machined my front panel out of 1/8 aluminum
(it was either 5005 or 5052, definitely not 6061), and
got the holes mostly right. I did the artwork with
Visio because I have it, and it does an okay job. I
had Kinkos (copy shop) print it onto some glossy
paper. Then I glued it to the panel (3M spray mount).
Carved out the holes, and sprayed it with Krylon
crystal clear.
It turned out okay. Better than stuff I did 20 years
ago. But it could be better. Artwork needs tweaking,
the print got scratched, the holes are off a bit. All
of these things conspire to ruin it.
I think the main thing is to GO SLOW. This is art, as
well as mechanics. Go slow, take your time, don't rush
it.
The next one will be better!!!
