I've been both a muso and a DIY'er for a long time now, about twenty five years
I think. I had a long break from DIY'ing in the nineties to concentrate on
music... but, hey, I'm back and it's fun.
Anyway, I'd agree with Aaron here. Isn't it amazing that, just as soon as your
credentials as a DIY/Repair man become known, you suddenly become a Mecca for
the legions of musos out there with broken bits of kit. I had a call late last
night from an old friend who was looking for a fix to his Roland MKS-50 synth.
Something about a missing voice.
"Yeah, sure. I'll have a look..."
"No, shouldn't cost you anything...."
You know how it goes...
