They'll work as low as 12 volts, though there are degrees of "working" if
you get my drift. At 12 volts, they are good for fuzz boxes but not much else.
I've just done a little 15 volt VCA on my page using a pentode, for those
who think anything over 15 volts is too dangerous. However I should point
out that at this voltage the A in VCA stands for attenuator - it loses about
50% of signal voltage at maximum. Makes a great wave folder though!
