Anudda Update:

After locating a better (larger) datasheet for the
12AU7A, I can see that each tride will need about 50V
across it to function. I'm surprised it worked at all
at 20V each.

Looks like its time to get a load of heater
transformers.

By the by: I have a schematic in PDF if anyone wants
it.
