[sdiy] Electronotes Builder's Guide?

Hi Folks,
    Can anyone comment on the type and worth of the cicuits in the Electronotes
Builder's Guide and Preferred Circuits book?  I thought I should solicit
opinions here first, since I was a little disappointed when I got T. Henry's
Electronic Music Circuits and found that most every circuit involved obsolete
chips.  (No slam on T. Henry intended).  Does the BGTPC have analog cicuits in
the same league as those found in Chamberlin's Musical Apps of Microprocessors?
That would suit me.  Thanks for any and all comments.
