Off the top of my head, I think it would use a series of low DA caps and
high-impedance op-amps, with muxes between them.  Then again, what do I
know??  Analog Devices also makes pricey sample and hold IC's -- I doubt
that's what Serge uses, and there is a 99% chance that AD will discontinue
the DIP version of whatever part you choose :)
