If you're referring to the B3-type set of drawbars (9 drawbars with 8
possible settings each), the number of possible settings is 8^9 =
134217728. Are you mixing this up with 8*9 = 72?

Ok, 8^9 is not the number of possible waveforms. For instance, 8' alone
gives the same waveform as 4' alone.
