Me? Well, yes... ;O)

But I often think miss out on fundamentals before more obscure things
like TIM hurts the most. Just getting a good transient response on a
real system is more work than most think. Still, you don't actually do
ultra-obscure stuff and no chicken-waving required to get a good
system.

But I keep on saying, know your tools and their limits. Much of the
analysis is really only valid for linear and time-invariant systems.
The time invariant aspect actually means "you may not tweak while
listening". Often you can however see that the non-linear effects are
not that major and you can view it mostly as piece-wise linear with a
few non-linear elements or even go for the simple model of "fully linear".
