Well, that's something I agree with. When logic becomes involved, and
several sequencers can be connected together in odd ways, a whole new world
of sequencing ability quickly opens out. However that said, I expect a
number of potential users would struggle with some elements of logic, as
they won't have spent the last 20 years with their heads in databooks.

Which technically speaking isn't consistent to start with. It seems they
change the verticals depending on the number of knobs in a module. The
original serges of course were consistant. Their panels were a grid of holes
at 1" spacing, with every grid location drilled regardless of whether a
particular module needed it or not. No doubt this was to simplify
construction, as it let any module go anywhere.
