I think it would also be nice to be able to read a short WAV file into a
program, and have the program give the Walsh coeffs needed to duplicate that
waveform. This would then be used as a starting point for re-synthesis, and
further exploration. I would hope that the ability to "morph" from one analyzed
waveform to another, through a series of changing Walsh coefficients would be
doable.
Drawing a waveform by hand sounds like a nice idea, but in practice it would
probably be tedious and hard to predict with any accuracy what sort of actual
sound the waveform would generate. Don't let me talk you out of coding the
program, but I think it would also be nice to be able to read an existing
waveform from a WAV file. It should be a much quicker and more predictable
method of generating some Walsh coefficients.
Finally, something like "Walsh drawbars" might be interesting to play with. I'm
thinking of something a bit more complicated than Hammond organ drawbars.
