Much agreed, but has anyone played with an anologue
Walsh machine's parameters, much like a drawbar system?
(at length). I submit that I understand that "Walsh
coefficient drawbars" are different from "sine harmonic
drawbars", but is it a system that is musically,
creatively useful? I.e., are they as useful as sine
based drawbars given you mess with (read:learn) them
enough? Can I sit in front of a Walsh console and make
what I need? (subtracting a prejudice I may have if I
am accustomed to sine). Or is it so weird that it's
too weird? (heh heh, I'm saying "too weird" to THIS
group <grin>)...
For example:
How many of us have sat down with 10 sine wave harmonics
with 10 EGs, one per harmonic and made sounds which change
over time ? And also done this with Walsh. Not me for
sure, but I wonder, if my initial source was Walsh and not
sine harmonic series, what would I prefer?
