Would this still be the case with "square" drums?  I don't know much
about drums, but I believe the drummer from Pantera has "square"
drums, where the drum diameter is the same as the drum length.  I
guess this gives them a certain "oomph" to them.   Maybe square means
the length is same as radius?  I don't know.  I would think just by
making them square, your math would be easier.
