[sdiy] EFM testimonials please...

Last time I checked, we were DIY, no? This isn't teleshop stuff,
you can't buy it at gas station...
I believe that there was more people got into sdiy thru efm stuff than
unhappy ones... Some bought pcbs but many more did one or another 
own diy version of the same things.
Original madmouse was superb noise maker, and as far as I could remember
there were no faults in there (except that Tom don't sell them anymore
:) and it was great entry level project.
With all that support from efm you can build anything. Back in '89 I
ordered my first pro pcb from one mag, it was full ddl (but without
bbd-s ;)
and after several months of trying I got no results. It still sits dead 
somewhere in the old boxes. I wrote many times to the mag but got no
response. Now you get reply the same day... 
I almost quit all electronics because of that shitty ddl. 
I got no feedback whatsoever... Doh..
Anyway, bashing Tom is just nonsense. I've built several efm projects,
but I don't count as newbie, eh... It's all great stuff with tons
of possibillities to learn and mod/expand it. And there are many new
sites with happy oscillationg efm vcos and vcfs...
