[sdiy] [Fwd: [AH] Allen Strange Book]

I have both.

Two different planets.

Strange is analog synthesizers mostly from a musicians point of view.

Chamberlin is digital synthesizers from an engineering point of view.
Despite the name, the book does have some analog diagrams. He describes
techniques for computer control of analog synthesizer modules. There are
lots of TTL ideas. For example he describes a number of techniques for
digital oscillator design including; divide by N frequency generator, rate
multipliers, and divide-accumulate. And, he goes into computer software.
Comprehensive!

If you are going to do anything digital get this book too.

Both books get five stars from me.

Powell's sometimes has this book in stock at their technical book store.
Check on line.
