One other thing that should be clarified - was he building EFM circuits
before Tom sold PCBs or was he working with one of Tom's PCBs.  It seemed to
me that the projects got easier to build once the PCBs became available.

Hmmm, looks more like a statement of fact to me. He built them, they
didn't work. He tried others, they did work.

I think that you do the community a great service with EFM, Tom, but
there is room for improvement in anything, and you must expect some
criticism. Based on my experience with EFM products, I think that they
make building synths easier for intermediate and expert builders, but I
don't believe that they are developed enough for the beginner. Just MHO.
