[sdiy] Trip to All Electronics...

Just got back from All Electronics...what a TRIP!

I did not come back empty handed...I have 6 88key harmer action
keyboards (don't worry, they still have a big pile of them down there).
Also got to meet list member Larry down there.

The good news:Mechanically, the keyboards I got looked very good.
Some of them have ominous notes, such as "C0 too loud", etc. I am
hoping to make a couple of good keyboard at the very least, out of what
I got.

The bad news:I was going to offer to send a few out to those who
might want one that is hand picked. Shipping these things, however, is
not going to be easy. The box they each keyboard came in is not
suitable to withstand the pounding that UPS would likely give it, and
finding a box to put them in would be a bit of a challenge at the
moment. And shipping would not be cheap, these things are HEAVY!

Here is the bottom line (from All Electronics, not me) on those who
might want to make the trip...3 keyboards for $50, 1 keyboard for $20.

According to some people I talked to down there, these are from
Alesis, were probably used in the QS8.

Now they also have some 5 octave and 7 octave keyboards. These were
in much sadder shape (mechanically speaking). I picked up four of
these. I should be able to make two keyboards. The four were $30, $10
each for 1.

Anyway, I am tired, I need to cook my dinner...
