Either way, there is a dog burried here that has come to haunt us.
Both persons have (at times) been seen as persona non grata on this
list. While the reasons deviate there is also a few things we should
consider.
BTW. I know a person which is perfectly entitled to use the word
"Heil", and this is because his last name happends to be that. He did
have to change the name of the company after an unfortunate insident
at the Frankfurt (or was it Hamburg) music messe where they in the end of
the corridor has "Heil Heil Heil" over the whole monter. Being french
they didn't even reflect over it since their pronounciation is quite
different. The products are good and are now sold under a diffrent
brand-name ;O)
Another thing. Many of the things which the nazis used for symbols
etc. where allready there in some form. They scraped up various bits
and pieces and used it for their own (and quite different) purpose.
This does not mean that all of these things are bad in themselfs, even
if they do give associations to the Nazi's. Suppressing the use of
certain phrases, symbols etc. just help to legitimate the Nazi's use
of them. That is a dilemma in itself.
I instantly recognice who you are refering to, but on the same time it
can be the real thing (that is, it is really Dieter who chimes in).
Let's just agree that it is a messy story.
Cheers,
Magnus - just tired of figths... but then, why the hell do I bother? I
just like the Synth-DIY list to be operational so that I can learn more!
