Don't you find the rubber acts like a return spring ?
I've got one of the same type, and it's no use if you want it to stay
put - the rubber always moves it a bit.

I got a couple of Alps 10k joysticks from some old BBC Micro joysticks
that are much better in that respect, and only cost 5ukp.
