[sdiy] Dumb polyphony question

Hi folks.

Who's this guy anyway ? I'm a synth hobbyist, who started with a
SIEL mono in 83 and a Korg MS20 in 85. My DIY has been mostly
confined to logic (and software) but it's never too late to
tackle linear. :-) Be prepared for fairly stupid questions as
I've been out of the loop for some years. Here we go.

One thing that's always made me wonder is how do the folks who
use modulars record the polyphonic parts ? Modulars are
monophonic, right ? I suppose you could have a system to assign
the notes to a collection of (VCO + VCF + ADSR) in round-robin
fashion but you would quickly find yourself in front of a wall
of modules. And I'm not sure those keyboards even *support*
that.

How do you go about it ?
