Scott,
 Thanks a million for the links!
 I have a million questions to go along with them.
 I am a major synth DIY newbe, lurking for some time now and the links will be 
very useful in building a small synth project for my young son and I.
 As I wrote to Rene off list I am trying to put something together almost toyish but 
if possible, still maintain basic functions like VCO, VCF, ADSR and noise. 
 His drawings will be great start. (Thanks again Rene, cheers).
 Anyone else with any guidance or ideas for a novice is welcome to email me offlist.
