Greg,
The group has given you some very good advice.
But being a tech, I have found thet Super Glue is indispensible in holding
the board together. Glue the board before carefully scraping the solder mask and
bridging the traces with 1/4" pieces of solid wire suitable for the trace width.
Unless you can find solder pads at both ends of the trace you can solder to.
I have used this method for boards that have been broken in two.
Good luck
Jim
hi.
i fell on my rx5 and cracked the circuit board. it still works, except for
the 0 and 2 buttons. unfortunately, almost all of its menus start with 0, so
i can't do much. looking at the circuit board, i can see exactly where the
crack goes across the applicable traces. they are covered with a light
plastic covering. my question is: how should i go about closing bridging the
crack? should i just cut the plastic and just try to apply a thin line of
solder? or is it more complicated than that?
also, i am using this machine to trigger drum modules, so the pad names
don't apply. i'd like to add labels to the keys that correspond to the
module voice numbers. does anyone have any ideas for labels that won't leave
residue?
thanks for any advice,
greg
